I first dreamed of becoming a midwife in 2010 when I learned about the profession. I was
drawn to the opportunity to support individuals and families through one of life's most
profound experiences and to work within a model of care that valued relationships, continuity
of care and informed choice.
Before pursuing midwifery, I completed a Bachelor of Ministries in Intercultural Studies and
worked in education and international development. I lived in Niger and Tunisia for several
years before returning to Canada with my husband. These experiences shaped my commitment
to culturally responsive and person-centered care.
I worked as a birth doula in the Lower Mainland before beginning the Bachelor of Midwifery
program in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of British Columbia. During my training, I
provided care in community and hospital settings across White Rock, Surrey, and Chilliwack and
had the opportunity to learn alongside a variety of healthcare professionals. Along the way, I
also welcomed my daughter and had the opportunity to experience midwifery care firsthand as
a client.
I am honoured to do this work and look forward to meeting you and supporting you on your
journey through pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period.
Outside of midwifery, I enjoy exploring the outdoors with my husband and daughter, sharing a
good coffee or meal with friends, and learning new languages.
